SGH keeps Canberra Hospital powered

JCB 500kVA Generator being installed into Canberra Hospital

SGH is the contracted service agent for Canberra Hospital’s 7 generator sets. As part of this contract, SGH have repaired the cabling from the hospital’s Detroit 450kVA generator, which is used for the all-important Neo-Natal Unit.

To ensure ongoing emergency power supply to the neo-natal unit, a 500kVA JCB generator has been temporarily put into place whilst the hospital’s generator is being repaired.

The JCB generator was chosen for its automatic start capabilities and its light weight compact build – so it could fit into the tight position between the hospital and the excavation of the New Women’s & Children’s Ward.
