SGH succeeds in SA mining industry

SGH and JCB dealer Errol Matschoss Motors engineered a unique generator solution for a mine site near Coober Pedy in the middle of SA. SGH worked very closely with Errol Matschoss and the customer to come up with a unique package.

They had an application to run some remote small bore pump stations. Each station had a very small bore pump (1.5kW motor) that was running 24/7 and also had a larger 15kW pump that was used for approx. 20mins every couple of hours. This is a difficult generator application as the generator needs to be large enough to be able to start a 15kW motor but because of the small normal running load (only 1.5kW) this would glaze the engine and it would impact the life of the generator.

SGH were able to engineer a unique solution that met their needs without compromising the lifespan of the generator. This unique approach to application engineering was one of the reasons the customer chose SGH above their regular generator suppliers. This combined with the rugged design & construction of the JCB generator and its environmentally friendly 110% bunded enclosure made for an easy selection for such a harsh environment - which don’t come much harsher than summer in Coober Pedy!
